The second pilot application will be installed in the the ancient city of Rhodiapolis in the Antalya region in Turkey. The site was determined together with the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
Rhodiapolis is located 2.5 kms north of Kumluca, Antalya, close to Olympos and Phaselis. Rhodiapolis received its name from the Rhodians that colonised it. The city was recently discovered after a wildfire. The most important remains of the city include the theatre, bathhouse, agora/stoa, sebasteion, temples, church, cisterns, cenotaph, necropolises and houses. The cite is being excavated by Akdeniz University, Antalya. Bilkent University closely cooperates with Dr. Isa Kizgut from the Department of Archaeology, Akdeniz University for organizing the pilot demonstration in Rhodiapolis.The FIRESENSE consortium would like to thank Dr. Kizgut for this support.
